Return of the Howler Empty
PostSubject: Return of the Howler   Return of the Howler I_icon_minitimeMon Jun 15, 2009 10:44 am

IC: How long had it been? five. . . almost six centuries? Locked away in the darkest chamber of that catacomb beneath what was once the mightiest of all cities Constantinople. Prisoner of a war long forgotten, locked away with his own deciples, deciples he'd long ago been forced to devour. His human name had fallen into archaic disambigouty, the histories would remember him only as the Sorcerer of Ire, a Dark Druid of fairytales. Yet he was not a creature of fiction, nor a boogeyman of a forgotten era.
"Oh how the mighty have fallen," Shadespell mutters to himself, the thought of the last half a mellinium living on rats and spiders, the rare delicacy of a bat. Now he stood over the fresh kill of the treasure hunters, human flesh he'd long since given up on ever tasting again. Six all together enough to quinch the hunger of centuries, more importantly though they had supplied the tools he needed to escape his iron fetters.
Before fleeing the city, Shadespell the Howler catches a glimpse of his now frail skeletal reflection in a lazy fountain pool, the mirrored face turning to disgust. Apparently it will take more than half a dozen Slavs to regain his once mighty vitality. With a snarl the Howler shifts into a more comfortable guise, the beast is lithe but the blood of the raiders has invigorated him and he feels somewhat himself again.
The world has changed indeed, and the Howler seeks his kind in a world totally alien to him. On the cusp of a thick dark woodland he unleashes a roaring howl that is his name sake, this is the Howl of Summon's. The forest about stirs as the wraiths ascend to float around the ancient sorcerer, their disembodied voices tell him of a new power in the world, a mighty werewolf lord in a new kingdom as mighty as any of the clans of old.
A crimson glimmer comes to the Howlers eyes. He grins, his venomous teeth tinted jade after centuries of living off the acursed Tomb Spiders inflicted upon the prisoners by the harlot betrayer, Iona, whose power rivaled his own in the days of old, but whose beauty was unrivaled in all of Ire. The pain of her betrayal returned to the forefront, and he paused in his thought, pondering her fate. The spiders meant as his bane had given him a new venomous edge and soon enough he would inflict it on Iona if she still roamed the land of the living, she and her followers, and if she now roamed the land of the dead? Shadespell smiled his most wicked smile, "Then I will bend her to my will, I will bend her until she breaks under my power."
"The mighty Gloomfang has heard your summons, he awaits to give you audience," the wraiths moan, hollowly in the night.
"Then we must not keep him waiting," the Howler snarls springing forth into the darkness.

OC: Hi, names Brian, I'm from Missouri father of two, I'm a musician. Of course that doesnt pay the bills so I also weld haha.

IC: The frigid light of Luna bathes the cruel and fang-like meridians of Tower Crag as the sorceror emerges from the haunted Lycanwood. The Andermanns, accursed wildlings and miserable thralls, retreat from his eldritch tread as the very ground rebels, hissing and blackening with the contact of his appalling flesh.

The lycanthropes guarding the looming Moongate sniff cautiously and almost affrightedly, sensing the coming of the were-wizard long before their sight is deluged with the perception of the power of Umr-at-Tawil. They back away, allowing him to pass, noting with tension the ancient grave stench that follows him.

The slaves in the enticement pens scream in mad fear as he makes his way to the iron doors of the Great Hall, and with boom, a flutter of startled bats, and a universal howling from a dozen demoniac throats, he enters the moonlit lycaeum where sits the Lord of Tower Crag.

Between the stone pillars, underneath the ironwork rotunda that allows to pass unholy jacobs ladders of mocking light, there sits the Granite Throne. To left, a wizened warrior stands with readied spear, his green eyes missing nothing. To the right, a lithe and beautiful female lounges languidly, her icy blue eyes bespeaking a quiet madness and unholy hunger.

And in the center, his great and terrible bulk sprawled upon the craggy stone of the dais, is a hell-eyed monstrosity, his gray-black fur like the abyssal entrance of that hated tomb of Leng. The sorceror's preternatural senses hear the chanting that continues unseen around this stone-seated devil. Ia Azathoth! Sebai-S'thkh gha! Ia Shub-Niggurath! Stseill fagh d'zyan!

And the chanting is answered from He whom the sorceror serves. Ia Yog-Sothoth! Ignailthl ignaiii. Ththfrgnga Yog-Sothoth!

Gloomfang the Devourer rises from his hideous throne like a red-litten shadow, his near subsonic growls making the very stones tremble, while the snarls of the werewolves punctuate the thin accursed piping of mindless and idiot flute players at Earth's center.

"Your coming was foretold, wolf magus. The Oracle has perceived you far off and whispered of your tread within our realm. I call you brother and fellow servant of the Outer Gods. You shall receive the gift of two slaves to renew your ancient strength. And should I require your aid in raising my ancestors from their essential salts, I shall call upon you. Welcome, Shadespell the Howler, to Tower Crag!"

OOC: I loved your intro, SS! Very well written. Nice to meet you. Welcome to Manbane and the Cursed Lands. Smile

"Well met brother, as you have claimed to be unto me," Shadespell snarls in response, running his gnarled claws through through his silver and gray beard that hangs like a ribbon of silk from his chin.
Gloomfang notes that the fire of the dark druids beastly eyes is but a flicker compared to his own, as if the coals of hell fire reside far within the dark recesses of his ancient mind, flaring and resigning as the cogs of his pondering turn at the prospects of servantry under this new and unprecidented lordship. Most apparent however was the glimmering jade sheen of his menacing teeth, which out shined the dull deep crimson of his eyes three fold
"Two slaves shall suffice for the time my lord, but to scry the fortune of your empire I will require scores more. . . Before this desire is met I ask escort to the Realm of Ire, or what once was Ire, the Westermost Isle, I assume you know it. I have much of my possession to procure if they have yet to be pilaged. Among which the Moga-Litha, the stone scrying pool of my forebearers, by which we may glimpse our fate innertwined. It rest in the Thornwood of Glimmervale, on the shores of Loch Ceridwaith."
The Howler bowed submissively, although Gloomfang stood, already towering over the lean sorcerer.
"And I would inquire as to anything you might be able to tell of the Vile Witch, Iona Vingwell, whom I seek?"

IC: although seeming uninterested in this new wolf, a wizad of unknown age... Lady Acacia was well aware of which he spoke... with veiled eyes she watched the exchange between her Lord Gloomfang and the Howler Shadespelll...

Gloomfang heard her whisper, "He is weak but very powerful, we would do well to help him in his quest to restore himself and revenge him"

Shadespell smiled "Thank you lady." Acacia's eyes widend... "You heard what I said? I did not speak aloud!" Her crystal eyes begin to spark... the agitaion and chaos beginning to rise...

Gloomfang sensed the coming rage building in her and caressing her arm with razor sharp talons. "Calm now my Lady, he is friend not foe" she stares into the hellfire of his eyes... fire meets ice... and she turns to the wizard, "you are indeed powerful, only those I choose can hear my whispers"

Shadespell acknowledges the Lady Acacia, "You are very yong in this guise, those who turned you did so for selfish reasons, I see your sight and your pain. I also see you will be the one to lead me to revenge"

Acacia's eyes clear, she sniffs the air... then shakes her head... Welcome Shadespell... I am here to guide you"...

OOC: SS nice to see you here... great rp... I'm looking forward to contiuing... Welcome to Manbane and the Lunar Empire...

OOC: Shall we continue this meeting here then? Then a quest for the Morga-lith in a forum of its own? Throw a little celtic flare into it?
